    VFW Post #425 in Hopkins is celebration its 90th anniversary this summer.

The Leipolds are co-chairs of the Apple Day festival Saturday, September 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Downtown Excelsior.  The festival features: Antiques, collectibles, crafts, vintage items, fresh farm produce, food, entertainment and the Red Wagon and Doll Buggy Parade at Noon.
    Darel Leipold holds two antique license plates in the couples Orono home Tuesday, Aug. 30.  The top license plate was only legal to use in Minneapolis in 1908.  The bottom license plate was the first issued for the state of Minnesota in 1915 and was good for 1916 and 1917.

The Leipolds, who own a store of the same name on Water Street in Excelsior, sell, "A variety of interesting items," according to Mr. Leipold.
