    Craig Bednarz, a veteran of the 1983 Grenada conflict, holds the door to VFW Post #425 in Hopkins open Thursday, Sept.16, 2010.  The post  is named after George W. Wolff, who was the first man from Hopkins to die in World War I.
    Members of the Cooties, an elite group of about 30 veterans at VFW Post #425 in Hopkins Thursday, Sept. 16, has its private Scratch, or meeting, at the post once a month. Cooties are dedicated VFW members who perform duties involving the aid to hospitalized veterans and those who are sick or injured, providing blood, visitation, clothing and entertainment at VA medical centers and other non-VA facilities, such as nursing homes and civilian hospitals.
    The writing over the bar at VFW Post #425 in Hopkins reads, "Welcome! All Veterans and Their Families."  The post is celebrating its 90th anniversary this summer and is named after George W. Wolff, who was the first man from Hopkins to die in World War I.
